SPP Sturm, Peter + Partner was founded in January 1994 as a civil-law partnership based in the Olympic Village in Munich and emerged from the merger of the engineering firm Sturm and the architectural firm Peter + Peter. Since this merger, the focus has been on the holistic orchestration of construction processes, which makes it possible to transport a central idea from the white paper to the finished building.
In addition, the office sees itself as an active consultant with a keen sense for architectural potential and clear but unconventional design ideas rather than a blind executor in its interactions with clients.
The clear design lines are often contrasted by detailed handcrafted solutions such as art glass elements or individual pieces of furniture, which lovingly complement the architecture and give it additional character.
The newly developed visual identity picks up on these characteristics visually. On the one hand, it communicates absolute clarity and self-confidence. On the other hand, accents such as colours, high-contrast typography and micro-animations create creative tension – similar to the detailed solutions in architecture.
The figurative mark abstracts the holistic building process and serves as a central design element that can be used both discreetly and in an extremely striking form. The colour scheme and clear typography are a reference to the office location in Munich's Olympic Village, which is characterised by Ottl Aicher's iconic design for the 1972 Olympic Games.
